Parchment-Inks Mentoring

LEE A.A WOODCOCK

Mr. Lee Woodcock is a Ph.D scholar at Lancaster University, a lecturer in Creative Writing in English Literature, and host to the Parchment-Inks Writers Group based in Hurst Green, Clitheroe at the Shireburn Arms.

Believe it or not, there is actually a secret to writing a good book, pitching it with synopsis, for it to eventually attract the eye of an agent or publisher, for it then to eventually land on the bookshelf at your local bookstore.

“Is this the sort of dream that you are looking for?”

For some, writing a novel, or a poem, and completing it to satisfaction is a dream; for others, it’s an enjoyable past time that lingers like a summer haze, yet for many, it can be an uphill slog, emotionally frustrating, and similar to juggling broken glass.

“Does this sound familiar?”

Well, it is very true what they say, those that try and write a reputable book – whether published or unpublished:

“Art, simply, at times, cannot be rushed.”
